FAQs

A Thermal Mass Flow Meter measures the mass flow rate of gases by detecting how much heat is carried away from a heated sensor by the moving gas.
The Thermal Mass Flow Meter uses a small heater and temperature sensors. As gas flows past, it cools the heater, and the meter calculates mass flow from the change in temperature.
> Direct mass flow measurement without separate pressure or temperature compensation
> Fast response and stable, repeatable output
> No moving parts, so maintenance is minimal
> Can also provide gas temperature and totalized flow as outputs
A Thermal Mass Flow Meter can measure most clean or slightly moist gases, such as air, nitrogen, natural gas, and many industrial process gases.
Depending on the model, a Thermal Mass Flow Meter typically achieves ±0.5 % of reading or better, ensuring precise and reliable gas flow measurement.
